So our Nearest Aldi is in Hawick, 10 miles away. They open at 9am in Scotland on a Sunday so we set off in time for opening. They only have kids sizes, grrr. Next up and we're off on to Galashiels. If they don't have any here then there's a good selection of stores in Edinburgh! Result, they have medium and large, so she buys a medium, and we head on a quicker route back towards Jedburgh.
On our next stop I make her try it on, and it is way too big, huge in fact. Um, so she gives her Mam a ring to try her local Aldi on the off chance they have it in small. Good old Aldi purchasing logistics has a lot to answer for. Another result and a small size secured by her Mam, so either the medium needs to go back or I make use of it... His and hers matching snidey Dry Robes! Either way, we're back on the Northumberland 250, and it's still reasonably early in the day.
We pass straight through Kirk Yetholm (or Town Yetholm) known to be the end (or start) of The Pennine Way. We didn't stop as there didn't seem anything of interest. Then onto Kirknewton and then onto Ad Gifren - just a roadside really.

Next stop Etal Village. We park up outside the pub, and take the short walk down to and around the castle.

We then head directly into Berwick and another Park4Night stopover, which sends us to a parkup down by the river under the bridge for the night. Its just a short stroll over Berwick Bridge (currently closed to traffic while we visited) to the centre of town.
Its the England game later today, although it's still relatively early, so we pop into The Barrels for a drink. Decent enough boozer, but only one smallish TV for the match.
We moved onto a micropub (totally my bag) called The Curfew, for another tasty ale, sitting in the garden, come courtyard, come lane, as the dogs weren't allowed indoors.
We then moved on around the corner to The Brown Bear to watch the England game. Desperate football, and a very lucky win. It was like watching Newcastle when Steve Bruce was in charge - pure Bruce Ball.
We make our way back to our camp via the Magna Tandoori, and another quick one in The Barrels while our curry was being prepared.
We eat our food back at the car. I've had better, but also had worse.
It's now gone 9pm, so we look for a pub on Google Maps on our side of the water. There's a pub called The Thatch less than a minute walk, which turns out to be a weird place in a residential street between houses (might not sound weird but was). Eve weirder, they'd already called last orders and were booting customers out.
Nevermind, another pub, The Angel is only a 5 minute walk away according to Google Maps.
We arrive only to find they've also called last orders! It's a Saturday night before 9.30pm. Come on Berwick, is there something we should know?
We couldn't be bothered to cross back over the bridge back into the centre of Town, so just head back to the car for an early night.
